Writing Tip – Getting to the Point

gunpointI have a pet peeve when it comes to reading. This is for all the authors who believe it is important to over-describe everything.

The use at least two (usually three) adjectives for every noun, or the three paragraphs to describe rain, or maybe the page and half describing the color of the skyline – too much information. The words must further the plot, or be discarded.

I follow a weekly blog that provides writing advice by a group of very successful authors. The website is called “Live to Write – Write to Live”. Aspiring writers will find the information valuable and definitely worth the time. This blog is by Wendy E.N. Thomas and she explains perfectly why a writer needs to get to the point.
