The Internet – Handling the Dark Side

Be badass everydayA friend from one of my social sites has gone MIA. Her disappearance follows threats over book reviews. Obviously, she felt safer offline and left her friends behind to wonder about her wellbeing. Maybe she didn’t have a choice, but I think the bullies just wore her down until she gave up.

In our digital world, do people loose their temper – of course! Do people become emotional to the point of becoming insulting – absolutely! Does it make them cyber bullies – not necessarily! It usually just makes them human.

We’re all been made aware of the psychotic behavior of stalking and violence that has shaken the literary world. Those issues started in cyber space and escalated into criminal acts.

I began to write this blog to talk about this problem and realized I already read great advice not so long ago. Kristen Lamb of WarrierWriters.com and WANA (We Are Not Alone) wrote a blog in September 2014 and I think it is worth reposting here. It covers some very real issues in the current cyber world. I think we all need to know how to identify and handle the real bullies out there. I hope you get as much from this post as I did.
